15+ years of rich experience in the structural design of architectural, residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, plant and special projects — across India and of every size and variety.
Visiting faculty, thesis guide and expert lecturer at CEPT University, and connected with Nirma University, NFSU and SAL. Recent subjects include "Aesthetics, Geometry and Structures in Shells" and "Design of Industrial Steel Structures — Studio".
Ex-visiting faculty at the School of Architecture, Growmore College, Himmatnagar; appointed advisor/reviewer by CRDF — CEPT Research and Development Foundation — for "Improving Procurement Processes for Civil Engineering Projects in India"; and runs a full-time industrial internship training programme for fresh M.Tech structural engineers.

Obtained his master's degree in engineering from Cambridge University and practised in the UK for 10 years before moving to India in 1982. He has developed a concept of "mindful buildings" based on simplicity, frugality and multiplicity. Currently a visiting lecturer in the UK at Cambridge University and University College London. Recipient of several awards including the SOM Fazlur Khan Fellowship for excellence in structural engineering, the UN World Habitat Award for Urban Development, the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and a citation by the Government of India.

The Indoor Sports Complex at Shiv Nadar University is an IGBC-LEED Gold rated building. Awards for that project include the SSMB Award Runner-Up for Best Stadium Structure in Steel (2018), a CWAB Award (2017) for a noteworthy project in the institutional category, and a Zonal Commendation at the IIID Anchor Awards (2016).
Mahatma Mandir & Convention Centre, Gandhinagar — India's largest 90 m diameter × 45 m high truncated conical shell structure — received the Ultratech Award for outstanding concrete structure. Structurally designed by Mr. Hrushikesh while with VMS as Structural Design Team Leader; the credit for that project lies with VMS, whom we thank for their belief in our design and leadership capabilities.
